DTB AgriTrade is looking for an intern who is passionate about modern agriculture and wants to pursue career options in international trade policy while exploring Washington, DC. This intern would have the opportunity to contribute to agriculture industry engagement on some of the most important trade policy issues affecting the sector while gaining knowledge and experience in global policy analysis, government/industry relations, and consulting strategy.
Firm Description
DTB AgriTrade is a specialized Washington, DC-based consulting firm that helps food and agriculture organizations deal with international trade policy. For over two decades, we have supported clients in achieving their policy goals through international trade negotiations, monitoring and analyzing compliance with trade commitments, and enforcing trade rules. DTB AgriTrade’s trade policy experts unapologetically support free trade, science-based innovation, and risk-based regulation because we believe these ideas are the best way to support producers, conserve our environment, and maximize food availability and quality for people around the world.
Internship Program Description & Requirements
Global trade policy is an endlessly fascinating topic, but it can be very detailed and technical. An ideal intern would be willing and able to dive deep into reports and spreadsheets, attend lectures on agriculture and trade policy topics, and summarize key information and findings for partners and clients. Potential activities include contributions to regular reporting, assessing implications of WTO proposals, finding information on institutional websites and databases, summarizing industry submissions, drafting or contributing to client memos, attending and summarizing events, meeting with government and industry officials on trade policy topics, various administrative tasks, etc.
DTB AgriTrade partners and staff will provide guidance and instructions, but we will also expect the intern to be a self-starter who finds ways to add value, which is what our clients expect from us. This is a paid internship and is open to all students. Candidates should submit a resume and cover letter to the Yeutter Institute at yeutterinstitute@unl.edu by December 1, 2024.
